spring/ summer 2010
JULIAN
hui-hui pays a visit to the porcelain workshop.
Spotless white and delft- blue, shades of grey, dusty pink
and washed out colours.
With the guts of a Julian Schnabel and the scissors
at hand, the deconstruction starts.
Instead of generously spreading
oil paint over plates, wallpaper and carpets we work the garments
until its like rags from the painters atelier.
Adverse to the wild eccentricity
A dash of Chanel’s class and timeless elegance collaborates
with the reduced aesthetic found in Japanese fabric books:
contrasting ribbons, simple patterns and graphic prints.
Cuts and holes, superlight-knit and a loose-fit suit the summer.
But not without showing some skin - by cutting deep décolleté in the back and
Sculpting the figure with corsage and bustier dress.
Somebody did the dishes properly.
